This Blog was originally started as a way to connect local businesses and people who don’t have a natural workspace. We recognize that the working landscape is changing, with more and more people deciding to freelance and work away from an office environment, to the many independent businesses that are growing in popularity every day. With Tring Buzz we decided to build a supportive and inclusive online community that connects these local businesses and professionals, helps promote what they do and also makes their working lives easier and more interesting.

In doing this we also found that we had created a brilliant space to tell you all about the awesome cafes, restaurants, bars, boutiques, producers, crafters and business services available locally. Along with our active social media, we’ve become a promotional service for all that’s brilliant locally. In short, if it’s awesome we’ll be talking about it!

If you are looking for something to do or somewhere to go in the local area or are searching for a business this is the place to be. Browse our Reviews, Features, Events or Business Directory to find what you’re looking for.

If you’re a business and need some help to promote what you do, check out the 'For Businesses' page on our site or get in touch via our contact form.

Hi there and welcome! I’m Katy - a busy working Mum of two. I’ve lived in Tring since 2008, escaping London for somewhere more spacious and relaxed. Straight away I fell in love with this buzzy little town bang in the middle of the most beautiful countryside and I’m very proud to call it home.

In December 2016, in a mission to re-vamp my working life, I founded the Tring Buzz blog and platforms as way to learn new skills in Social Media. Very quickly I was overwhelmed by enthusiasm for the Blog and everything I was doing to champion our brilliant local businesses. I also found a passion for bigging up everything local and talking about our inspiring local business people. I quickly realised two things – firstly that the Blog was part of me and, secondly, that to be sustainable long term it would have to self fund. The conclusion that I came to was that to maintain the integrity of what I’d created and support the independent businesses that I’m passionate about in the best and most cost effective way possible, was to provide online, low cost advertising. With the addition of Matt this took us to the next stage in the Tring Buzz story and this beautiful website of which we’re incredibly proud and I hope will be an invaluable service to everyone.

Creating and continuing to work on the Blog has been the highlight of my life. From the incredible people I’ve met, to the friends I’ve made, the opportunities I’ve experienced to the pride I feel in supporting the business community and working with people I both respect and admire. Thank you so much for your continued interest and support – it really would not be possible without that and I hope you enjoy continuing to take this journey with us.

Hi, I'm Matt! I moved here a little over 4 years ago, after almost a decade living and working in London in a job I didn't enjoy and dreaming of becoming a full-time photographer. After building up a photography business in my free time over several years, and wanting to have more space to start a family, we made a decision to move out of London and for me to take the big step into becoming a full-time freelancer.

After spending a number of years travelling out of London to visit the Chilterns, we knew Tring and the area well - so it seemed a natural choice for us. Going full-time into photography as well as moving away from a client base I had built in London was a daunting time, but I was quickly welcomed into the local business community through the lovely people of Tring Together, and found an incredibly supportive network of people, many of whom were self-employed themselves or ran small independent businesses.

The supportive community is one of the many things I love about Tring, and over the past few years this little town in the Chilterns has only gotten better and better and the variety of incredible businesses out there is truly inspiring. Meeting Katy I found someone to share my passion for supporting our local businesses, and to form a creative collaboration of the kind we want to encourage and support through this exciting project.
